Look out for these potential causes of damage when snow and ice thaw and protect your property by following these tips. 

• Ensure drains take water away from the property and correctly drain
• Check the grading around your home to ensure the water is directed away from your property
• If you have a sump pump, make sure that it is working correctly especially if you are in an area that is prone to flooding.
